Dear MendMeShop,

Two years ago, after returning to the gym for the first time in over a decade, I developed intense lower back pain which radiated into my left hip and leg. I also developed snapping hip syndrome. After many expensive visits to a chiropractor and physical therapist, I gained some relief, but still experienced constant low level pain in the injured areas with episodes of intense debilitating pain which interfered with my sleep and work. After searching online for alternative and cost effective self treatment methods, I discovered your website and purchased your Back/Hip Inferno Wrap and Back/Hip Freezie Wrap. Within a short period of time of using these products, I noticed a huge reduction in pain. Two months later, the pain is barely noticeable, the snapping hip syndrome is an unpleasant memory and I feel that significant long term healing of chronic injuries is taking place. I absolutely LOVE your products, and enthusiastically recommend them to everyone I meet who is experiencing similar pain issues. Kudos to Paul and everyone in your customer service department which is beyond compare in terms of knowledge, promptness and genuine concern for your customers!

Dear MendMeShop,

First I have a bad knee with arthritis and loss of cartilage. Over a year ago I was advised by my doctor to get a knee replacement. I am 70 years old using a arthritis drug, it is not effective as it once was, so I have been getting special shots in my knee, This combination brought my pain level down quite a bit. But I was looking for more because I didn’t want a knee replacement yet. I found you add on the internet for the Freezie and Inferno Wraps. I bought both. When my knee swells from too much activity I use freeze to help bring down the swelling. The freeze really works great and relieves the pain. On a Daily basis when I get up, I use the Inferno Wrap and I immediately can become active for most normal activities for the day without pain, unless I overdo then I do the Freezie. I also use the heat at night when I go to bed which relieves any pain I might have then. I have since bought an Inferno knee wrap for my wife and she says it is the best thing she has ever used to comfort her bad knees. Both her knees are bad with arthritis, and she is wanting another one so she can do both knees at the same time. I also have a lower back that for years was either causing spasms in either side when I would overdo activities, I bought the back Inferno after having such great success with it, each morning I lay it on the bed and lie on it for 20 min before I start my Daily activities. As long as I do this every day I have not had back problems. If I go for a few days without it, my back will start to tighten up again. I then lie on it for relief. One time my back went out completely when not using it and instead of the 2 weeks to get back in shape it only took a few days while using the Inferno. I now use it every morning and night and my back has not went out for some time. My only concern is now my wife is using it so we have to fight for it. Soon we will have to get her one. I am very active in sports and daily activities that require lot of stress on body parts, and as you get older, these body parts don’t work as good as they used to and causes pain. So any help I can get I will go for it. I have also used these wraps on leg muscle cramps for very fast relief and for stiff necks. Anywhere I get a pain I try to wrap one of these Inferno Wrap around it for relief. Great Product!

Dear MendMeShop,

Hello, I'm reporting into you that the shoulder wrap is working so good. Most of my pain is gone now. I have good movement of the arm. Can raise it up over head now and around to the back. Before I started the treatments I was not able to do these things. I am a believer of your product and I will continue to use it. I went to my Doctor today for my yearly physical and I told her about me ordering this wrap, as I did not want to go through another surgery on the rotator-cuff. I just got done doing my overhead pulley exercises on my arms and then I put on the wrap and it felt so good. I still am being very careful as to not over use the arm. I was able to run my vacuum today with the right arm and did great. Ok, just thought you would like to hear my progress and I am very happy with the results so far

Strained Tendon

The strained tendon is a common yet painful injury that will occur in almost everyone at least once in their lifetime. Many people will experience a strain to an ankle tendon at some point in their lives as we use our feet everyday for walking and other common activities.

Strained tendons can be painful.

The trick with a strained tendon is to make sure it heals properly which will provide the lowest chance of re-injury. Re-injury of a strained or stressed tendon occurs more easily than the initial injury and there is usually more inflammation around a re-injured tendon than there was during the first injury. A tendon strain left untreated can easily become a chronic problem that disrupts your ease of walking and participation in activities that you enjoy, something we often take for granted.

A strain that goes left untreated can cause more pain in the tendon and may be a sign of chronic tendonitis (also spelled tendinitis). Chronic tendonitis is a degenerative condition in the tendon fibres that attach the muscles to the bones in the ankle. Sufferers generally complain of a severe, burning pain in the area, which gradually worsens and is exacerbated by stress on the joint.

Grades of Tendon Strains

A tendon or muscle can be strained to varying degrees depending on the force that caused the strain and the strength of the tendon or muscle tissue. There are 3 difference grades of tendon strains and the grade is determined by the severity of the tissue damage.

Grade 1 - Mild Strain

A grade 1 strain is the least serious of tendon strains. With a grade 1 strain there is some stretching or minor tearing of the tendon tissue. These injuries usually heal quickly if treated properly with cold compression and Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy (BFST®). When the strain first occurs, treat it immediately with cold compression therapy over the course of the first 48 hours to reduce pain, swelling, and tissue damage. Once the strain or tear has healed, it is important to improve the health of the tendon and restore the elasticity to the tendon with Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy to reduce the risk of restraining it again.

Grade 2 - Moderate Strain

A grade 2 strain occurs when a tendon or muscle is partially torn but still intact. If you have a grade 2 strain, strength in the ankle tendon is noticeably reduced. This grade of strain can also be effectively treated with cold compression and BFST®. It is also recommended that you allow your ankle to rest and possibly wear a brace to immobilize the ankle and allow the tendon tear to heal.

Grade 3 - Rupture or Severe Strain

When a tendon is completely torn (ruptured) it is considered a grade 3 tear. The stability of the ankle is greatly reduced and pain is evident. Treatment of a complete tendon tear requires surgery to rejoin the tendon to the bone or back together at the point of the tear on the tendon. Cold compression and BFST® can be used prior to surgery to minimize tissue damage, resulting in a less invasive surgery.

Customer Reviews

In addition, using these therapies following surgery will help to repair and strengthen the tendon faster and more completely. With these therapies you will have less scar tissue formation on your ankle tendon leaving it more elastic and less painful than if it was left to heal on its own.

Tendon Strain Symptoms

If you have suffered a tendon strain you may be experiencing the following symptoms:

  • Pain in your tendon when you flex or extend your foot.
  • Muscle spasm in the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles of the calf.
  • Pain and tenderness may occur when the tendon is examined by touch (palpated).
  • Swelling
  • Noticeable loss of strength in a grade 2 or 3 tendon strain.

Causes of Tendon Strain

A strain in the tendon is caused by excessive twisting and turning, rolling over on the ankle, a sudden traumatic injury, improper training or overuse during a prolonged period of time.

Whether you are a runner/athlete, painting on a ladder, or walking on ice, an unfortunate twist and awkward fall can cause you to strain a tendon in your ankle if it is twisted abnormally. As well, using your ankle when it is not warmed up properly (i.e. sprinting or overstretching it before the fibres are warm) can also lead to an acute strain.

Ankle Tendon Treatments

Allowing your ankle to rest is always recommended when you are suffering from tendinitis, tendon tear or bone dislocation. Avoid all activities that may have caused the injury or irritation and begin cold compression treatments as soon as possible. The peroneal and posterior tibial tendons are difficult to rest completely as they are essential tendons for walking and daily activities. During your recovery, you will probably have to modify and/or eliminate any activities that cause pain or discomfort in your ankle until the pain and inflammation settle.

Scar tissue builds on the ankle tendons as they heal. The build up causes pain and inflexibility in the tendons making them more prone to further injury.

The trick with healing an ankle tendon injury is getting it to heal with minimal scar tissue formation. Even with optimum healing, there is always less elasticity in previously injured peroneal tendons. This will cause the tendons to hurt during daily activities and exercise. However, if you heal your ankle tendons efficiently and quickly, your chance of re-injury later on is much lower than average.

Customer Reviews

Fortunately, there are healing tools that can help treat your peroneal and posterior tibial tendons and speed up the healing process so you can get back to a life without pain and risk of further injury. Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy (BFST®) promotes blood flow to heal your tendons faster and more completely than any other methods available.

Cold Compression Therapy

Doctors recommend using cold compression as soon as possible following an ankle injury, like a sprain, and after any re-injury. This will reduce pain and swelling and minimize tissue damage that occurs with soft tissue injuries like tendon tears and tendinitis.

Cold Compression
Freezie Wrap Therapy for your peroneal tendinitis inflammation and pain.

The Ankle/Achilles Freezie Wrap® allows you to treat the pain and swelling of your peroneal tendinitis or posterior tibial tendinitis in an effective and convenient way.

The wrap is adjustable which allows you to control the compression to a level that is comfortable for you and the gel packs are chilled in the fridge not the freezer. This eliminates the risk of cryoburn, or 'cold burns', on your skin that can be cause by ice and strandard freezer gel packs. You can also wear the Freezie Wrap® for longer treatments so you can enjoy even more relief from your ankle pain!

How to Order

Cold Compression Therapy works by interrupting and slowing nerve and cell function in the injured area and reducing swelling that can block blood vessels. This is important because once blood vessels are blocked or damaged, they can no longer carry oxygenated blood through the peroneal tendons and tissue cells begin to break-down. Without cold compression therapy cellular break-down and tissue damage continues as the cells do not get the oxygen they need to survive. By limiting the amount of damage, you also limit the amount of healing that needs to occur. This is a very important step to heal your ankle tendons faster and with less pain!

The deep cooling effect provided by the Ankle/Achilles Freezie Wrap® gives you the fast, effective relief your sore ankle has been looking for!

Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy

Once inflammation has been reduced, nourishing and strengthening the tendon tissue and surrounding area is recommended.

Ankle Inferno Wrap promotes blood flow to the tendon to speed healing and strengthen the surrounding tissue.

Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy, or BFST®, will speed your recovery and heal your ankle tendons more completely preparing them for strengthening exercises.

BFST® increases the amount of blood that flows naturally to your ankle to nourish your tendons and ligaments, improving elasticity and accelerating the healing process.

By treating your ankle with Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy you can increase your body's natural healing power. In addition, the fresh blood flow whisks away dead cells and toxins that have built up from tendonitis and tissue damage leaving the area clean and able to heal faster. Our Ankle/Achilles Inferno Wrap® provides effective, non-invasive, non-addictive pain relief and healing with no side effects.

Dear MendMeShop,

So far, so good! I've used the shoulder treatment 4x a day for a week now and seen a marked improvement in my shoulder with both flex ability and pain relief. P.S. As a follow up one week after the initial comments... Indeed, after a couple weeks of use, the pain totally subsided. Thanks!!!

Dear MendMeShop,

I ordered an Achilles/Ankle “Inferno Wrap” and a Back/Hip “Inferno Wrap” which arrived within 48 HOURS. These wonderful products produced remarkable results from their very first application! Day One: Initial Treatment @ 9:00 AM on the Low Setting for 20 minutes Second Treatment (same day) @ 12:00 NOON for 20 minutes Third Treatment (same day) @ 3:00 PM for 20 minutes Fourth Treatment (same day) @ BEDTIME for 20 minutes “Rinse & Repeat” every day now… My range of movement and the reduction of discomfort in my Achilles Tendons improved by at least 90% IMMEDIATELY. As for my chronic lower-back trouble that is the long-term result of a “minor exercising mishap” 45 years ago, which randomly flares up on a regular basis.. I am now enjoying Instant Relief thanks to the application of my Back Inferno Wrap whenever I experience any episode of neuro-muscular discomfort !!! I’ll keep you posted as time goes by, but I wanted to say right away, “THANK YOU so much for everything”!
