Dear MendMeShop,

I was skeptical at first as to be expected with anything being purchased online, however I decided to take my chances and just go for it. I tried all that I could to heal plantar fascilitis and nothing seemed to work for me, and the things that did work were taking wayyy to long. I got to the point where I was beyond frustrated I was so devastated that I couldn't run, or even sit for more than 5mins without standing up with excrucitaing pain. I turned to aid my tendon and so far I have nothing but pleasantries to say about it. I ordered the Night splint and Inferno wrap and I use them everyday needless to say it has only been a week but I do see signs of serious improvement. It even almost seems like my healthy foot is getting jealous so sometimes I put the inferno wrap on it cause it is very soothing. I have only had it for a week so I cant give it a full 5 stars but I am expecting to be back in the next couple weeks updating my review with all pleasnt things Thanks.

Dear MendMeShop,

I purchased the Inferno wrap and Freezie wrap to treat a chronic Achilles tendonosis (MICROSCOPIC TEARS OF THE TENDON AT THE INSERTION). During the later part of 2008 I was experiencing a lot of tight muscle and tendons and usually working out (running) tired and not properly warmed up and limber. I started the new year with good intention and determined to work on stretching that included following a home yoga program. I am familiar with yoga but admit that I was too aggressive with the stretching that comes from the 'downward dog' position. I believe this aggravated an already existing condition in the Achilles insertion area, this combined with the stress of a late January 5KM road race caused enough pain in the Achilles tendon to force me to discontinue running. I sought medical attention from my family physician who referred me to physiotherapy. Through the early stage of therapy I continued to do regular bike workouts. Unfortunately the pain increased to the point that I had to stop both running and cycling. I attended physiotherapy for just over two months going once a week receiving massage to the injured area, ultrasound, cortisone by patch and ice. I was religious in following the gentle stretching and strengthening routine at home between physio visits. After these two months with little improvement they released me with the instruction to continue with the stretching, strength exercises and ice. I was still in pain and could not run or cycle without causing further damage, walking was painful. I search for other solutions and found the information on the MendMeShop web site. Although skeptical, I purchased the wraps out of desperation, received the product, read all the literature for use and started into a daily routine. Within 7 days I started to experience a reduction in the constant pain. Within 9 days I was walking without a constant reminder of the injury. I tried doing a ride and although the short 13 mile ride was enjoyable I started to feel the injury flair up again. The injury is not completely healed but the progress I am experiencing gives me hope that with a continued discipline of home treatment using the products, gentle stretching and the use of wearing a brace on my foot while sleeping to prevent the tendon from retracting, will in time bring about the full healthy healing of the injured area. I have found that you really have to be in tune with what you are feeling during the gentle stretching and often back off the stretch so as not to cause repetitive injury to the already weakened area of the Achilles insertion.

Back Sprains

Sprains can happen a anytime.

Back sprains are often the beginning of a long battle with back pain. Sprains are limited to the ligaments that link the spinal bones together, followed by tendons which connect muscles to bones and dics. Symptoms such as diffuse muscle aches, fatigue, back or neck pain, sleep disturbance, and muscle tender points often follow back sprains. It's important to see your healthcare provider for a diagnosis if what you thought was a minor muscle sprain continues for more than a couple of weeks.

The diagnosis of stress-related back pain or sprain is based on a complete history and physical by a healthcare provider. It's important to rule out maladies such as kidney disease, spinal tumors, or infection that can manifest themselves much like a back sprain. If you're indeed diagnosed with back sprain, your treatment will most likely be overseen by some type of therapist or a chiropractor.

Back Muscle Treatments

If you have a muscle pull or strain in your back, resting it is recommended. Avoid activities that cause pain or may have caused the injury and begin cold compression treatments as soon as possible.

There are healing tools that can help treat your back muscle strain and speed up the healing process so you can reduce your pain and get back to daily life. Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy (BFST®) will promote blood flow to heal your injury faster and more completely than any other methods available.

Freezie Wrap® Cold Compression Therapy

To decrease inflammation of your muscle pull when the strain first occurs doctor's recommend cold compression therapy. For an acute strain, cold compression therapy within the first 48 - 72 hours and after any restrain is important to limit the amount of damage done to your tissue. Cold compression therapy will relieve pain and swelling as needed and will reduce, or even eliminate, the need for NSAIDs and pain medications.

The Back/Hip Freezie Wrap treats pain, swelling and inflammation caused by muscle and tendon strain while reducing tissue damage.

The Back/Hip Freezie Wrap® is the cold compression tool you need to treat your back pain in an effective and convenient way. It is so versatile it can be worn anywhere over your chest, back, or hip for treatment where you need it.

Cold Compression Therapy works by interrupting and slowing nerve and cell function in the injured area and reducing swelling that can block blood vessels. This is important because once blood vessels are blocked or damaged, they can no longer carry oxygenated blood through your muscle and tissue cells begin to break-down. Without cold compression therapy cellular break-down and tissue damage continues as the cells do not get the oxygen they need to survive. By limiting the amount of damage done to your tissue, you also limit the amount of healing that needs to occur. This is a very important step to heal your muscle strain faster and with less pain!

The deep cooling effect provided by the Freezie Wrap® slows cell metabolism thereby reducing cellular break-down and tissue damage. Furthermore, because the cold wraps gently numb the nerves, the wraps also reduce pain!

The Freezie Wrap® uses a supercharged cooling gel pack, that chills in the fridge, not in the freezer like ice or other freezer packs, giving you deep cold therapy without the risk of 'cold burns' or cryoburn.

MendMeShop Success Stories

Once the inflammation of your back injury has been reduced, nourishing and strengthening the muscle tissue and surrounding area is recommended. Using Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy will speed your recovery and heal your muscle fibers more completely preparing them for strengthening exercises. Talk to your doctor or physical therapist to find out which exercises are appropriate for your situation.

Inferno Wrap® Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy

After severe inflammation and swelling is reduced you can begin to treat your back with Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy (BFST®). BFST® increases the amount of blood that flows naturally to your muscle fibers to nourish your soft tissue which speeds healing.

The Inferno Wrap speeds the healing of back tendon strain, muscle pulls, and tears.

When you rest your back and stop moving around because it hurts, the natural blood flow to your muscles is reduced, limiting your body's ability to heal itself.

By treating your back muscles with BFST® you can increase your body's blood supply to the muscle fibers and increase your body's natural healing power.

The Inferno Wrap® is the tool you need to treat your sore back because not only does it speeds healing, it relaxes all your back muscles. With BFST®, tissues are safely and gently stimulated. Your body responds with a rapid increase in blood flow to the area, increasing the supply of oxygen and nutrients to injured tissue cells to promote healing and loosen the tissue. Our Back/Hip Inferno Wrap® provides effective, non-invasive, non-addictive pain relief and healing with no side effects.

In addition, the improved blood flow whisks away dead cells and toxins that have built up from your muscle strain, further reducing tightness and pain. When you stop moving your back due to pain, your muscles and other tissue can become weaker and dead cells and toxins in the area can cause further tissue deterioration - this can lead to atrophy (muscle weakness and/or deterioration). By clearing the area of toxins and increasing the amount of oxygen and nutrients to your muscle and other tissue, the risk of atrophy is greatly reduced. Keeping your muscle tissue as healthy as possible throughout the healing process will allow you to improve muscle strength again once your pain has gone and your strain has healed.

With these easy-to-use home therapies, cold compression and BFST®, you will notice significantly reduced pain and an incredible improvement in your back pain.

During your recovery, you may have to modify and/or eliminate any activities that cause pain or discomfort in your back until your pain and inflammation settle. The more diligent you are with your treatment and rehabilitation, the faster you will see successful results!

Dear MendMeShop,

I began using the Freezie Wrap (8C) and the Dorsal Night Splint (7Cp) immediately when the package arrived. I followed the instructions. The only medicine I took was 2 or 3 200 mg ibuprophen per day. (I seldom take pain killers.) The plantar faciitis was in my left foot. When the treatment began, I could not walk without great pain and even when I sat still the pain continued. Within a few days the great pain was gone, and within a month I felt pain only after a lot of walking or ballroom dancing. Before receiving your devices, I began using plantar faciitis inserts in my shoes, but that alone did not cure the problem. Now, I use the devices only when I feel slight pain after a couple of hours of walking or dancing. You provide a quality product that is easy to use and works as described on your web site. You may quote my comments.
