Dear MendMeShop,

First I have a bad knee with arthritis and loss of cartilage. Over a year ago I was advised by my doctor to get a knee replacement. I am 70 years old using a arthritis drug, it is not effective as it once was, so I have been getting special shots in my knee, This combination brought my pain level down quite a bit. But I was looking for more because I didn’t want a knee replacement yet. I found you add on the internet for the Freezie and Inferno Wraps. I bought both. When my knee swells from too much activity I use freeze to help bring down the swelling. The freeze really works great and relieves the pain. On a Daily basis when I get up, I use the Inferno Wrap and I immediately can become active for most normal activities for the day without pain, unless I overdo then I do the Freezie. I also use the heat at night when I go to bed which relieves any pain I might have then. I have since bought an Inferno knee wrap for my wife and she says it is the best thing she has ever used to comfort her bad knees. Both her knees are bad with arthritis, and she is wanting another one so she can do both knees at the same time. I also have a lower back that for years was either causing spasms in either side when I would overdo activities, I bought the back Inferno after having such great success with it, each morning I lay it on the bed and lie on it for 20 min before I start my Daily activities. As long as I do this every day I have not had back problems. If I go for a few days without it, my back will start to tighten up again. I then lie on it for relief. One time my back went out completely when not using it and instead of the 2 weeks to get back in shape it only took a few days while using the Inferno. I now use it every morning and night and my back has not went out for some time. My only concern is now my wife is using it so we have to fight for it. Soon we will have to get her one. I am very active in sports and daily activities that require lot of stress on body parts, and as you get older, these body parts don’t work as good as they used to and causes pain. So any help I can get I will go for it. I have also used these wraps on leg muscle cramps for very fast relief and for stiff necks. Anywhere I get a pain I try to wrap one of these Inferno Wrap around it for relief. Great Product!

Dear MendMeShop,

As a professional athlete, my body takes a lot of abuse during training. Boxing is very strenuous on the arms and shoulders and I have had a rotator cuff injury for the past two years. The shoulders don't get a lot of blood flow, so injuries don't heal properly on their own. The injury had gotten so bad, I thought I might have to retire from the ring. Then I started using the Inferno Wrap and the Freezie Wrap every day. I use the Inferno Wrap before my workouts to relax and loosen up the muscles in my shoulder and increase the circulation. After a hard training session (sometimes up to 3 hours), I use the Freezie Wrap to deal with any remaining inflammation. My shoulder has felt better in the past two months than it has in the past two years! I highly recommend both of these products to anyone with a chronic injury who is saddled with daily pain. -Molly McConnell Top World ranked professional female boxer

Treat Your Back Pain with BFST® and ColdCure Technology® Home Therapies!

We rely on a healthy back everyday. It is essential for work, sports, and every-day getting around. Whether you are playing with the kids, hauling lumber, or training for a big event, you are utterly dependent on the health of your back.

Back Injury

Unfortunately, this leaves the supportive tissues of the back vulnerable to injury. Muscle strains of the lower back are most common, and as with most back injuries, can be prevented by good body mechanics. This includes, bending at the knees when lifting from the ground, standing and sitting with good posture, warming-up and stretching before exercise, and sleeping on a firm mattress. These simple measures for avoiding back injury can work wonders!

However, sometimes these injuries are unavoidable. In fact, one-half of all working Americans admit to having back symptoms each year. It is no wonder then that back pain accounts for most health care visits and missed work.

Most commonly back pain is brought on by a singular event that proves to be too much for the back's supportive muscle tissue. However, back pain isn't always brought on by a strained or torn muscle. Other causes of back pain include: herniated disc, sciatica, spinal stenosis, spondylosis, spondylolithesis, and spinal infections.

Anatomy of the Back

Fortunately most cases of back pain are treatable and the majority of people will be 100% in just a few weeks. Our reliance on back health is such that any injury, a slipped disc, torn muscle, or sciatica, can debilitate our lives enough to the point of serious disruption. For this reason it is imperative that we control the pain and inflammation, so we can get on with more aggressive rehab that will stretch and strengthen the area and be the driving force behind making a full recovery.

Upon injuring your back, cold compression therapy will reduce initial inflammation, a key component for pain relief and healing. They work because they interrupt and slow nerve and cell function in the damaged area. Once blood vessels are damaged they can no longer carry oxygenated blood to the damaged tissue and therefore cells begin to break-down. The deep cold provided by our Freezie Wraps® slows cell function thereby reducing cellular break-down. Furthermore, because the cold wraps serve to numb the nerves the wraps also reduce pain!

After the initial stages of swelling have been controlled it is then beneficial to apply Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy, or BFST®, to the area. BFST® promotes blood flow which will flush the injured tissues of cellular waste, while providing nutrients to the torn tissues.

Back Pain Treatments

If you have back pain, resting it is recommended. Avoid activities that cause pain or may have caused the injury and begin cold compression treatments as soon as possible.

There are healing tools that can help treat your back pain and speed up the healing process so you can reduce your pain and get back to daily life. Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy (BFST®) will promote blood flow to heal your injury faster and more completely than any other methods available.

Freezie Wrap® Cold Compression Therapy

To decrease inflammation of your muscle pull or other back injury doctor's recommend cold compression therapy. For an acute muscle strain, cold compression therapy within the first 48 - 72 hours and after any re-injury is important to limit the amount of damage done to your tissue. Cold compression therapy will relieve pain and swelling as needed and will reduce, or even eliminate, the need for NSAIDs and pain medications.

The Back/Hip Freezie Wrap treats pain, swelling and inflammation caused by muscle and tendon strain while reducing tissue damage.

The Back/Hip Freezie Wrap® is the cold compression tool you need to treat your back pain in an effective and convenient way. It is so versatile it can be worn anywhere over your chest, back, or hip for treatment where you need it.

Cold Compression Therapy works by interrupting and slowing nerve and cell function in the injured area and reducing swelling that can block blood vessels. This is important because once blood vessels are blocked or damaged, they can no longer carry oxygenated blood through your soft tissue and cells begin to break-down. Without cold compression therapy cellular break-down and tissue damage continues as the cells do not get the oxygen they need to survive. By limiting the amount of damage done to your tissue, you also limit the amount of healing that needs to occur. This is a very important step to get rid of your back pain faster!

The deep cooling effect provided by the Freezie Wrap® slows cell metabolism thereby reducing cellular break-down and tissue damage. Furthermore, because the cold wraps gently numb the nerves, the wraps also reduce pain!

The Freezie Wrap® uses a supercharged cooling gel pack, that chills in the fridge, not in the freezer like ice or other freezer packs, giving you deep cold therapy without the risk of 'cold burns' or cryoburn.

MendMeShop Success Stories

Once the inflammation of your back injury has been reduced, nourishing and strengthening the muscle tissue and surrounding area is recommended. Using Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy will speed your recovery and heal your muscle fibers and other soft tissue more completely. Talk to your doctor or physical therapist to find out which exercises are appropriate for your situation.

Inferno Wrap® Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy

After severe inflammation and swelling is reduced you can begin to treat your back with Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy (BFST®). BFST® increases the amount of blood that flows naturally to your tendon and muscle fibers to nourish your soft tissue which speeds healing.

The Inferno Wrap speeds the healing of back tendon strain, muscle pulls, and tears.

When you rest your back and stop moving around because it hurts, the natural blood flow is reduced, limiting your body's ability to heal itself.

By treating your back with BFST® you can increase your body's blood supply to the muscle fibers and soft tissue and increase your body's natural healing power.

The Inferno Wrap® is the tool you need to treat your sore back because not only does it speeds healing, it relaxes all you back muscles. With BFST®, tissues are safely and gently stimulated. Your body responds with a rapid increase in blood flow to the area, increasing the supply of oxygen and nutrients to injured tissue cells to promote healing and loosen the tissue. Our Back/Hip Inferno Wrap® provides effective, non-invasive, non-addictive pain relief and healing with no side effects.

In addition, the improved blood flow whisks away dead cells and toxins that have built up from the damaged tissue caused by your back injury, further reducing tightness and pain. When you stop moving your back due to pain, your muscles and other tissue can become weaker and dead cells and toxins in the area can cause further tissue deterioration - this can lead to atrophy (muscle weakness and/or deterioration). By clearing the area of toxins and increasing the amount of oxygen and nutrients to your tissue, the risk of atrophy is greatly reduced. Keeping your muscle tissue as healthy as possible throughout the healing process will allow you to improve muscle strength again once your pain has gone and your back has healed.

With these easy-to-use, home therapies, cold compression and BFST®, you will notice significantly reduced pain and an incredible improvement in your back pain.

During your recovery, you may have to modify and/or eliminate any activities that cause pain or discomfort in your back until your pain and inflammation settle. The more diligent you are with your treatment and rehabilitation, the faster you will see successful results!
