Dear MendMeShop,

So far, the products seem to be working fine. I have used both but mostly the Freezie Wrap for the inflammation from the meniscus injury. I do like the fact that the Freezie Wrap makes it easier for me to ice my knee than using anything else

Dear MendMeShop,

I used the Inferno wrap diligently for weeks and my knee felt much better. (I did find out I have a torn meniscus as well as an edema on my right knee). Of course, the doctor recommended surgery, which I am trying to avoid. I was feeling much better and went back to line dancing with some pain, but kept going. I now think I went back too soon and I was feeling like I may have injured it further, so I was using the Inferno wrap 4 times a day again. I feel I should have kept on using the wrap more often and not been in such a hurry to get back to dancing. I am totally sold on the Inferno wrap. I purchased one for my achilles heel problem and it has helped it also. I am one satisfied customer.

Dear MendMeShop,

What I can report is that the treatments make a difference. I have a bone spur. My routine is to start at 6:00 am because in the morning is when it hurts the most. I have discovered a way to wrap my foot with both the planter ligament wrap and the Achilles tendon wrap at the same time. I do the cold for 20 minutes, let it rest for 20 minutes, then do the hot for 20 minutes. While the pain does not go away, it does go from excruciating to tolerable. Each day I'm able to do a little more in the way of household chores I am even starting to go swimming again. I look out at the garden and dream of the day I can get back to work there. I told my podiatrist about your product and he said that is exactly what he wants me to do, cold then hot, plenty of water. He asked for information about your products, so I am taking it with me at my next visit. So, yes, all in all, I am happy with your product. But mostly I am pleased with your company. Like this letter for example, I am sure that you have hundreds of customers, but you make me feel like I'm the only one, or the most important. I feel like you care that I am experiencing pain and you want your product to help me. I wish you much success with your business. Yours Truly, Peggy *Update* Peggy emailed us 3 weeks after her first comments with a promising update: My bone spur has improved to the point that I use the treatments only once a day in the morning, with an occasional treatment in the evening after dinner. And there are days when there is no pain at all throughout the day!!

Dear MendMeShop,

I've used both the Knee Inferno Wrap and the Freezie Wrap. The Freezee wrap has been of most help in reducing inflammation and pain. The doctor discovered a torn meniscus via MRI, and subsequent x-rays show significant arthritis, so it's going to be a total knee replacement situation. I anticipate using your products during recovery after surgery. Thanks very much.

Dear MendMeShop,

Over the past eight months I have been suffering from shoulder and arm pain. I just kept thinking that the pain would go away on its own. When I reached the point where I was unable to raise my arm over my head without assistance and forget about putting my arm behind my back. I decided that a trip to the doctor was due. She ruled out that I had an injury to the Rotator Cuff itself and determined that I had a soft tissue injury. Due to repetitive movement and heavy lifting. She suggested that I try physical therapy. With my work schedule and family obligations I knew that was going to be very difficult and I wanted something that I could fit into my schedule. So I began doing research on the internet for alternative treatments and exercises. That's when I found your product on the internet. I was somewhat skeptical as to rather it would perform as stated, but decided to give it a try. It was stated that it could take up to three weeks to feel results. BUT I am here to say that for myself it has done better. I have been using the Freezie Wrap for a week and have already felt some improvement. I can now raise my arm to just about shoulder height unassisted, and can now almost get my finger tips back behind my back. I make a point of using Freeze Wrap as soon as I get home from work to relieve the stress to my muscles from work and to keep the inflammation down. Now that I have gotten some of the inflammation gone I intend to incorporate the Inferno Wrap treatment to my regiment to just before going bed to aid the healing process and aid in a better night's sleep.

Dear MendMeShop,

I have been using the inferno and freezie on my knee (torn meniscus) for several weeks now and have been very happy with the results. Less pain and less inflammation. I have been using the inferno before a work out and up to 3 times a day. I use the freezie after my work out or if I feel my knee is inflamed. I am very pleased that I found your advertisement on my facebook page. I have tell everyone about this product and I can't imagine how my knee will feel in another month. I also use it on my other knee for arthritis. It seems to help. Thanks again and I will continue to endorse your product. Because I believe it works. I showed my physical therapist your product and he was impressed. Yours truly Jacenta Friesen

Iliopsoas Bursitis Medications
and Natural Supplements

Cortisone/Steroid Injections or Topical Medications may initially help reduce inflammation and swelling; however steroids may actually cause more harm than good if used on a long term basis. Ask your doctor if these are a possible option for your iliopsoas tendinitis and/or bursitis or iliopsoas syndrome.

Medication can help ease your pain

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and pain medications (analgesics) can be used to help manage your iliopsoas tendinitis and/or bursitis pain. However, these medications will not cure this problem - they will merely treat your symptoms.

These drugs aren't recommended for everyone or for long term use, as pain medications can cause liver damage, and NSAIDs can cause gastrointestinal difficulties such as upset stomach, diarrhea, ulcers and intestinal bleeding. They can also trigger other serious side effects, and even inhibit the body's natural ability to heal itself.

COX-2 Inhibitors (prescription NSAIDs like Celebrex, Bextra or Vioxx, block the COX-2 enzyme involved with prostaglandin production responsible for inflammation) have been linked with risks of heart attack, stroke and in some cases death. The US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) asked manufacturers to withdraw some COX-2 Inhibitors (Vioxx and Bextra) from the market as well as put a warning label on the packaging outlining the risks involved with use (Celebrex).

Natural Pain and Healing Therapies

Although medication can be helpful to reduce the pain and inflammation of bursitis, side effects can be damaging overtime. Use of NSAIDS and pain medication is not recommended over a long period of time. There are effective home therapies for treating bursitis in a natural, non-addictive way that will not harm your organs or increase your risk of other diseases.

Relieving the symptoms of bursitis initially focuses on keeping the pressure off the bursa. Surgery may be required if your bursa irritation is a result of a bone formation problem, such as a bone spur. If your bursitis is caused by an infection (septic bursitis), the doctor will probably drain the bursa sac with a needle and prescribe antibiotics to treat the infection. For non-infectious bursitis, the preliminary treatment starts with non-operative options such as ColdCure Technology®.

The most important factor in healing bursitis is resting your hip. This can be difficult when you have to carry on with daily activities, but resting whenever you can is recommended. During your recovery you will probably have to modify or avoid the activities that stress your bursa until your pain and inflammation settle.

Success Stories

Treatments should involve decreasing swelling, relieving stress on the hip joint, correcting any biomechanical dysfunction (uneven leg length, bone spur, etc.), treating scar tissue, and then restoring strength and movement in your leg and hip. Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy (BFST®) is recommended once inflammation has been calmed to heal the bursa and surrounding tissue faster and reduce the risk of bursitis returning.

Freezie Wrap® Cold Therapy

To decrease inflammation and relieve the pain of iliopsoas bursitis doctor's recommend cold therapy.

The Back/Hip Freezie Wrap treats pain, swelling and inflammation caused by bursitis while reducing tissue damage.

Applying cold to your inflamed bursa will help decrease the swelling and redness around it. Cold therapy will also help to numb the pain in your acetabular joint and help to control the inflammation. In addition, the deep cooling effect provided by the Hip Freezie Wrap® reduces tissue damage.

The Hip Freezie Wrap® uses a supercharged cooling gel pack, that chills in the fridge, not in the freezer like ice or other freezer packs, giving you deep cold therapy without the risk of 'cold burns' or cryoburn.

Cooling your inflamed iliopsoas bursa as needed throughout the day is recommended. The Hip Freezie Wrap® can be used to apply cold in a safe, convenient and effective way - and the gel pack is reusable. The gel pack sits gently over the inflamed bursa to reduce swelling and redness.

How to Order

The wrap is soft and adjustable so it fits your body properly, without irritating the bursa, and allows you to adjust the compression. This is important when treating an inflamed bursa because too much pressure can cause you further pain. You control how much pressure the bursa receives so you can benefit from the compression to hold the cold where you need it, without increasing your pain.

Inferno Wrap® Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy

Once the inflammation of your bursitis has been reduced with ColdCure Technology®, it is time to improve blood flow and improve the elasticity of your surrounding soft tissue. Your body needs a fresh supply of blood to improve the health of your tissue and get your iliopsoas bursa back to normal.

The Back/Hip Inferno Wrap speeds the healing of bursa tissue and the surrounding area.

Unfortunately, when you are suffering from bursitis it can be painful to even walk or lift your leg. When you limit movement in your hip the blood flow is reduced, starving your tissue of the necessary oxygen and nutrients.

The trick is to find a way to increase blood flow without causing pain and/or further inflaming the bursae. This is where Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy, or BFST®, becomes a powerful tool.

BFST® compliments your body's natural healing process by promoting blood flow while you give your hip the rest it needs.

The Hip Inferno Wrap® uses a patented process to generate the same energy that is part of the sun's spectrum of light, the same energy that is necessary to all living things for optimum health. The energy emitted from the Energy Web® stimulates blood flow to your hip, more than your body would ever be able to generate on it's own, giving your body the boost it needs to continue the reconditioning process. The healing energy reaches deep into your iliopsoas bursa to speed tissue repair, whisk away the toxins and dead cells, and rejuvenate your hip tissues for improved elasticity.

With these 3 easy therapies, you will notice significantly reduced pain and an incredible improvement in your hip pain and range of motion.

We recommend that you consult your doctor and/or physiotherapist before using any of our outstanding products, to make sure they're right for you and your condition.

Anti-Inflammatory Medications

NSAIDs, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, can be used if required to help manage your pain. However, these aren't recommended for long term use, as they can cause gastrointestinal difficulties and increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. The use of cold therapy BFST® in conjunction with NSAIDs can greatly improve the effect of this medication and can help to heal quicker.

Surgical Procedures

Your doctor may aspirate your inflamed bursa. This involves removing the extra fluid that has built up with a needle. Sometimes, the fluid will be tested at a laboratory to rule out infection.

Many hip conditions are treated with arthroscopic surgery; bursitis, tendinitis, iliopsoas tendon tear, labral tear repair, cartilage trimming, snapping hip syndrome, and trimming bone spurs.

If your bursitis does not get better with conservative treatments, the bursa may be surgically removed. Usually this is done by hip arthroscopy, which is a surgical procedure where tiny incisions are made and a pencil-sized camera is inserted into the hip. A small shaver is inserted into another incision, and is used to remove the swollen bursa all together. The surgeon will then look for any damage to the hip and make repairs if necessary. This is also done to remove any bone spurs.

Recovery time for the surgery will depend on a number of different factors including your healing ability, diet, rest and how many procedures were done in your surgery.

Post-op recovery time can be reduced with the use of cold compression and Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy following surgery. Cold compression is recommend by doctors following surgery to treat your pain in a natural, non-addictive way and to reduce swelling. Once the incision has healed, speak with your doctor about the use of BFST®. BFST® encourages more oxygen and nutrients to flow to the area to speed healing and improve the strength of the soft tissue in your hip. Improving blood flow is the most important step following surgery, especially in a joint, to speed healing and improve the range of motion in your hip.

Rehabiliation Exercise

Physical therapy is a beneficial way to restore atrophied muscles and improve strength and mobility after treating bursitis. The type of physical therapy and the duration will be dependent on the tissue damage and your symptoms. When you are treating or recovering from bursitis, it is important to ensure you do not perform any exercises that will further irritate the bursa.

BFST used in conjuction with physical therapy can speed recovery and heal you more completely.

Once your pain starts to diminish, a physiotherapist will set up an individualized strengthening and stretching exercise program for you to perform at home or in the gym. This will be based on your needs and abilities, and will help you return to performing your normal routines.

Individuals will often lift weights on their own, to try and build up their strength. However, in doing so, they can do more damage to their joint. It is extremely important to strengthen your muscles properly, as they may have weakened during the period of non-use. A trained therapist will help to ensure your rehabilitation process is appropriate and effective. For best, long term results use BFST® in conjunction with physical therapy and an exercise program.

How to Order

During your recovery, you may have to modify and/or eliminate any activities that cause pain or discomfort in your joint until your pain and inflammation settle, and you gain more mobility and strength. The more diligent you are with your rehabilitation, the faster you will see successful results.

Dear MendMeShop,

I have had terrible foot and heel pain for over two years now, I was diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis and underwent several weeks of physical therapy, this got me back on my feet but the pain never went away. Almost two months ago I ordered several of your products hoping I could get some relief for this pain. Wow did it work! After activities I use the Freezie wrap and several times a day the Inferno wrap, finally I sleep with the Night Splint with Tread. I am no longer afraid to step out of bed in the morning and am able to once again exercise normally. Thank you for these great products!

Dear MendMeShop,

A couple of years ago I helped my husband cut firewood on a hillside. I began to experience pain in my Achilles tendon shortly after we had finished getting all of the firewood cut, split and stacked. I limped through the winter and in the spring began to worry that I wouldn't be able to take care of my gardens. I finally went to the doctor and was prescribed physical therapy. The PT did help with the pain but didn't really "cure" the problem. I continued home physical therapy for another year and began to research therapies to help the tendon. I wanted to avoid surgery if possible. I came across the MendMeShop website and read about the products recommended for Achilles tendon. The cost seemed minimal compared to what I had already spent at the doctor and physical therapist. I ordered the Inferno Wrap and the Freezie Wrap for the ankle and used them according to the directions. I felt great pain relief and the flexibility in my Achilles returned within a few weeks of treatments. I have also been using a night splint following my last Inferno Wrap night treatment before retiring. With that regimen, I have been able to avoid a surgical tendon correction and have been able to resume my normal busy activities. Thank you MendMeShop for your great products and customer service follow-up of the shipment of products.
