Dear MendMeShop,

Just a little note to thank you for your wonderful products-they really work. Some months ago I was diagnosed with a meniscus tare, after seeing the specialist and getting an injection which only temporarily took away the pain. Facing the possibility of having to have surgery I looked in the internet for an alternative treatment-when I came across Mend Me Shop. Before I started the treatment it was painful and difficult to walk, now I am walking an average of 14,000 steps a day without pain or discomfort. Pastor Geli, Th.D

Dear MendMeShop,

Things are going well with my healing sessions. I had it three times daily with each session lasting 20 minutes maximum for two weeks. I noticed reduction of pain in my third day using the Inferno Wrap. In my Second week I reduced the sessions to just one (20 Minute) per day. The pain is almost gone except when I make a wrong and abrupt move on or of my right (problematic) shoulder. Hopefully, I do not have to use the Freeze Wrap this summer when I do most of my heavy yard work, but I am assured that there is this cold treatment if in case I hurt my shoulder again. I now have decided not to have an MRI on my shoulder and undergo more expensive treatments or therapy from my specialist ortho doctor . I think his diagnosis of "Frozen shoulder" or possible rotator cup tear are correct. I will be watching my progress and if condition gets worse, I will call him again for appointment. But for the mean time, I am satisfied with my Inferno Wrap treatment on myself. I am glad to have save time and money at least for now. Thanks again for your wonderful products and support. Warm Regards to your Team. P.S. In a follow up email Jesse sent us later in the year, Jesse indicated the Inferno wrap did wonders... it's been almost nine months ago since I purchased your products. I am happy to let you know as today that my frozen shoulder is no longer an issue. I believed in less than a month of continuous therapy sessions per your instructions on the product my pain is gone.

Dear MendMeShop,

I have been doing very good with your (Back and Ankle) products. Have not had to use the cold much anymore, just the inferno wrap and I can tell I am starting to improve with the device. I did talk with someone a few weeks ago and she gave some usage recommendations. So all in all, your products and personal attention are great.

Dear MendMeShop,

I have had terrible foot and heel pain for over two years now, I was diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis and underwent several weeks of physical therapy, this got me back on my feet but the pain never went away. Almost two months ago I ordered several of your products hoping I could get some relief for this pain. Wow did it work! After activities I use the Freezie wrap and several times a day the Inferno wrap, finally I sleep with the Night Splint with Tread. I am no longer afraid to step out of bed in the morning and am able to once again exercise normally. Thank you for these great products!

Dear MendMeShop,

Today I am totally pain free, and completely healed. I no longer have to use any of the products, however they are in the bathroom closet for future use as my doctor said I am prone to it coming back. The Inferno wrap also helped with my heel spurs. I have shared all your product information with my doctor, he was impressed with my results and wants to share with other patients. Using the Night Splint at night is paramount to complete recovery. Kind Regards, Lorrie

Dear MendMeShop,

I'm 52 & in fairly good shape, I mountain bike for hours - at least twice a week. I kayak offshore for hours twice a week. I also snorkle & work out. So when my son invited me to play paint ball, my leg muscles were strong enough to do what my mind told them...to a point where my left leg (the one that got bent backwards playing little league baseball 29 years ago) became so painful the next day. I was shocked & amazed how I had gone from in great shape to a hobbling old man. A bit of research I re-learned hot before & cold after a workout/activity. Cold packs are cheap at the drug store & heat pads are too, but destroyed a few of these in the microwave oven to heat. I found the frozen packs seemed a bit too much & the heat pads ether nearly burned me or wasn't hot enough to get deep. I then went back & ordered your hot & cold products AND MY PRODUCTS GOT HERE IN MAUI IN TWO DAYS ARRIVING ASTONISHINGLY ON A SATURDAY !!!! I now heat up both my knees before a workout or just as good treatment & cool 'em down after. I feel like I'm 99% better but I'll continue to use these products as I feel it'll keep me from getting a knee injury. The relief is so wonderful...I paddle for hours and I have no issues.

Iliopsoas Bursitis Symptoms

The symptoms you experience with iliopsoas tendinitis, iliopsoas bursitis, or iliopsoas syndrome are all similar. These symptoms include pain, tenderness, swelling, heat or redness, and loss of normal mobility.

Weakness

You may also experience weakness in your upper thigh/hip area especially when lifting up your knee which results in a limp when walking or running.

Pain and Tenderness
iliopsoas bursitis pain patterns.

Pain and tenderness are the most common symptoms and are experienced with iliopsoas tendonitis and/or bursitis. This is found deep in your groin and radiates around to the front of your hip or upper thigh area, and can follow the length of the tendon down toward your knee. Pain will often move into your lower back and buttock area as well. This pain can be experienced in each location or all at one time; it can also be on one side or both sides of your body.

Often the reason for the pain is known, however sometimes there may be no major reason or injury that brings it on. If you have iliopsoas tendinitis and/or bursitis you will experience a slow onset of pain and tenderness that builds up over a long period of time. If you have iliopsoas syndrome, your pain and tenderness will be sudden and sharp. Pain will generally be experienced for a short period of time during vigorous activities like jogging or kicking a ball with your instep, as well as more passive activities such as getting up from a seated position, extending your leg while driving, walking up stairs, lifting something heavy or bringing your knee up to your chest (especially against resistance). You will often find it difficult to lie down comfortably without support. Occasionally pain diminishes while in use, but it returns with a vengeance when you stop your activity.

Over stretching can injure your bursa.
Stiffness, Swelling, and Crepitus

Hip stiffness and tightness in the groin, as well as the knee, can result from a tight iliopsoas muscle. Swelling and increased amounts of fluid in the bursa are often apparent with iliopsoas bursitis. This may be accompanied by redness and warmth in the groin.

Crepitus (clicking, snapping and/or popping hip sounds) may occur, especially with an inflamed iliopsoas bursa or snapping hip syndrome (caused by your iliopsoas tendon catching on your pelvis when your hip is flexed). This will also occur with a severe or complete iliopsoas tear. If you have a complete tear it will generally prevent you from walking upstairs.

Should you seek medical attention?

Seeking medical attention.

This is up to your discretion; however any continued discomfort in your groin or pelvis area should be investigated. If you experience any of the symptoms noted below it is recommended that you seek immediate attention:

  • Severe pain and tenderness.
  • Problems or swelling in or around the genitalia (penis, scrotum, testicles).
  • A cut, lump or bulge or bleeding in your groin area.
  • Major hip/thigh movement problems causing a severe limp.
  • Urinary problem.
  • A groin rash.
  • Postoperative problem after groin operation.
  • Exposure to an STD.
  • Groin pain has not improved after 1 week, where symptoms are more severe or frequent.
  • Signs of shock (lightheadedness, restlessness, shallow breathing, sweating, weakness, nausea.)

Hip Bursitis Treatments

Relieving the symptoms of bursitis initially focuses on keeping the pressure off the bursa. Surgery may be required if your bursa irritation is a result of a bone formation problem, such as a bone spur. If your bursitis is caused by an infection (septic bursitis), the doctor will probably drain the bursa sac with a needle and prescribe antibiotics to treat the infection. For non-infectious bursitis, the preliminary treatment starts with non-operative options such as cold therapy.

Iliopsoas bursitis treatment includes resting the hip.

The most important factor in healing bursitis is resting your hip. This can be difficult when you have to carry on with daily activities, but resting whenever you can is recommended. During your recovery you will probably have to modify or avoid the activities that stress your bursa until your pain and inflammation settle.

Success Stories

Treatments should involve decreasing swelling, relieving stress on the hip joint, correcting any biomechanical dysfunction (uneven leg length, bone spur, etc.), treating scar tissue, and then restoring strength and movement in your leg and hip. Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy (BFST®) is recommended once inflammation has been calmed to heal the bursa and surrounding tissue faster and reduce the risk of bursitis returning.

Freezie Wrap® Cold Therapy

To decrease inflammation and relieve the pain of iliopsoas bursitis doctor's recommend cold therapy.

The Back/Hip Freezie Wrap treats pain, swelling and inflammation caused by bursitis while reducing tissue damage.

Applying cold to your inflamed bursa will help decrease the swelling and redness around it. Cold therapy will also help to numb the pain in your acetabular joint and help to control the inflammation. In addition, the deep cooling effect provided by the Hip Freezie Wrap® reduces tissue damage.

The Hip Freezie Wrap® uses a supercharged cooling gel pack, that chills in the fridge, not in the freezer like ice or other freezer packs, giving you deep cold therapy without the risk of 'cold burns' or cryoburn.

Cooling your inflamed iliopsoas bursa as needed throughout the day is recommended. The Hip Freezie Wrap® can be used to apply cold in a safe, convenient and effective way - and the gel pack is reusable. The gel pack sits gently over the inflamed bursa to reduce swelling and redness.

The wrap is soft and adjustable so it fits your body properly, without irritating the bursa, and allows you to adjust the compression. This is important when treating an inflamed bursa because too much pressure can cause you further pain. You control how much pressure the bursa receives so you can benefit from the compression to hold the cold where you need it, without increasing your pain.

How to Order

Applying cold to your tender bursa and hip joint is the first step in treating your bursitis.

Inferno Wrap® Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy

Once the inflammation of your bursitis has been reduced with cold therapy it is time to improve blood flow and improve the elasticity of your surrounding soft tissue. Your body needs a fresh supply of blood to improve the health of your tissue and get your iliopsoas bursa back to normal.

The Back/Hip Inferno Wrap speeds the healing of bursa tissue and the surrounding area.

Unfortunately, when you are suffering from bursitis it can be painful to even walk or lift your leg. When you limit movement in your hip the blood flow is reduced, starving your tissue of the necessary oxygen and nutrients.

The trick is to find a way to increase blood flow without causing pain and/or further inflaming the bursae. This is where blood flow stimulation therapy, or BFST®, becomes a powerful tool.

BFST® compliments your body's natural healing process by promoting blood flow while you give your hip the rest it needs.

The Hip Inferno Wrap® uses a patented process to generate the same energy that is part of the sun's spectrum of light, the same energy that is necessary to all living things for optimum health. The energy emitted from the Energy Web® stimulates blood flow to your hip, more than your body would ever be able to generate on it's own, giving your body the boost it needs to continue the reconditioning process. The healing energy reaches deep into your iliopsoas bursa to speed tissue repair, whisk away the toxins and dead cells, and rejuvenate your hip tissues for improved elasticity.

With these 3 easy therapies, you will notice significantly reduced pain and an incredible improvement in your hip pain and range of motion.

We recommend that you consult your doctor and/or physiotherapist before using any of our outstanding products, to make sure they're right for you and your condition.

Anti-Inflammatory Medications

NSAIDs, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, can be used if required to help manage your pain. However, these aren't recommended for long term use, as they can cause gastrointestinal difficulties and increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. The use of cold therapy and BFST® in conjunction with NSAIDs can greatly improve the effect of this medication and can help to heal quicker.

Surgical Procedures

Your doctor may aspirate your inflamed bursa. This involves removing the extra fluid that has built up with a needle. Sometimes, the fluid will be tested at a laboratory to rule out infection.

Many hip conditions are treated with arthroscopic surgery; bursitis, tendinitis, iliopsoas tendon tear, labral tear repair, cartilage trimming, snapping hip syndrome, and trimming bone spurs.

If your bursitis does not get better with conservative treatments, the bursa may be surgically removed. Usually this is done by hip arthroscopy, which is a surgical procedure where tiny incisions are made and a pencil-sized camera is inserted into the hip. A small shaver is inserted into another incision, and is used to remove the swollen bursa all together. The surgeon will then look for any damage to the hip and make repairs if necessary. This is also done to remove any bone spurs.

Recovery time for the surgery will depend on a number of different factors including your healing ability, diet, rest and how many procedures were done in your surgery.

Post-op recovery time can be reduced with the use of cold compression and blood flow stimulation therapy following surgery. Cold compression is recommend by doctors following surgery to treat your pain in a natural, non-addictive way and to reduce swelling. Once the incision has healed, speak with your doctor about the use of cold compression therapy and BFST®. BFST® encourages more oxygen and nutrients to flow to the area to speed healing and improve the strength of the soft tissue in your hip. Using cold compression therapy as soon as you can following your surgery will reduce the amount of tissue damage caused by swelling.

Rehabiliation Exercise

Physical therapy is a beneficial way to restore atrophied muscles and improve strength and mobility after treating bursitis. The type of physical therapy and the duration will be dependent on the tissue damage and your symptoms. When you are treating or recovering from bursitis, it is important to ensure you do not perform any exercises that will further irritate the bursa.

BFST used in conjuction with physical therapy can speed recovery and heal you more completely.

Once your pain starts to diminish, a physiotherapist will set up an individualized strengthening and stretching exercise program for you to perform at home or in the gym. This will be based on your needs and abilities, and will help you return to performing your normal routines.

Individuals will often lift weights on their own, to try and build up their strength. However, in doing so, they can do more damage to their joint. It is extremely important to strengthen your muscles properly, as they may have weakened during the period of non-use. A trained therapist will help to ensure your rehabilitation process is appropriate and effective. For best, long term results use BFST in conjunction with physical therapy and an exercise program.

How to Order

During your recovery, you may have to modify and/or eliminate any activities that cause pain or discomfort in your joint until your pain and inflammation settle, and you gain more mobility and strength. The more diligent you are with your rehabilitation, the faster you will see successful results.

Dear MendMeShop,

In February of this year, I injured my knee while exercising. Since I lost my health benefits through my job due to the economy, I wasn't able to afford a professional diagnosis. The outside area of my left knee was swollen, stiff and painful and I could not put any weight on that area. After mowing my lawn, gardening, exercising or any other physical activity the swelling, stiffness and pain were much worse. I was using a bag of frozen crinkle cut carrots attached by a rubber band around my knee to help alleviate the pain & swelling - not a very high tech solution! I searched online to find what if anything I could do myself to rehab and repair my injury and thankfully I found your web site. From the information your site provided, I determined I had a torn meniscus as the symptoms associated with that were exactly what I was experiencing. I ordered the Knee Therapy Kit, received it in less than one week and began using the kit immediately. It has now been 7 days since I started using the kit and I have already noticed results. My swelling has gone down, the pain is gone and the stiffness is occasional instead of constant. I am so delighted with these results as I am very active and this knee problem was really affecting my lifestyle. Not only that, but I was looking forward to doing a lot of surfing this summer and I am excited as I believe I will be able to without any problems! I will be telling everyone about your web site and products and that is saying a lot because it is rare and refreshing for me to find products that work so well. I'm obviously rating this 5 out of 5 stars!

Dear MendMeShop,

My name is Bridget, and I am the one that received the Inferno Wrap that Doug purchased. I had stepped off of my front steps early on Halloween day, I missed the entire bottom step somehow.... and seriously rolled my ankle. I am a avid runner and try to get somewhere between 25-40 miles in a week depending on what I am training for at the time. My ankle swelled like a balloon and stayed that way for 2 solid months! I was unable to run, and believe me I tried. I could barely even walk. I was unable to go to the Dr. because of some insurance issues that were being delt with, so I got on the Internet and started doing some research to see what I could do... That is when I came across your web site. I am not gonna lie, I didn't believe it. I thought it all sounded to good to be true. I actually thought about it for a week before I decided to give it a try, the $ back guarantee is what the deciding factor was for me. OMG!!! I have nothing but praise for your products! It is an amazing thing, it only took 1 week for the swelling to go down and stay down! I was back on the trails, running again on the 8th day! I am continuing to use the Inferno Wrap on a regular basis, thank you so much for getting me back out where I belong... running the Trails.
