Athletic Pubalgia SymptomsIf you have athletic pubalgia there are often no obvious external symptoms or signs. ![]() However, you generally experience a deep or sharp pain and discomfort from your lower abdomen and pelvis to your urogenital and groin area (your lower stomach muscles around to your pubic bone and under to the bottom of your body between your legs) especially with sudden movements or when exerting yourself in activities that involve kicking, twisting, side-stepping, sprinting, and lifting. Some people experience testicular pain as well. Activities that increase intra-abdominal pressure like resistance sit-ups, coughing or sneezing can aggravate the pain. You will often feel pain and tenderness on one side of the abdomen or groin near the pubic tubercle (bump), which radiates into the genital area, and can move down into the hip and/or inner thigh area. This pain and accompanying stiffness can be experienced during or after activities, and can last for hours or weeks. You may find it difficult to get out of your car a few hours after your activity and/or find it hard to get out of bed the next morning. Your athletic pubalgia pain will often go away with rest, however it generally returns when you resume the activity. ![]() Weakness in the upper thigh area with adduction (bringing upper leg or hip closer to the centre of your body) can be seen and/or experienced with athletic pubalgia when running, walking or kicking. Should you seek medical attention? This is up to your discretion; however any continued discomfort in your groin or pelvis area should be investigated. If you continue to experience the athletic pubalgia symptoms noted above and have tried the suggested conservative treatments (see conservative treatments for Athletic Pubalgia), it is recommended that you seek professional medical attention. If you experience any of the symptoms noted below it is recommended that you seek immediate attention:
BFST™ - Using Your Body's Natural Healing System![]() Your body can heal itself! In fact, your body starts healing itself the moment you are injured and it's the blood in your body that makes it all happen. Your blood is the transport mechanism for everything that is good inside you. It carries oxygen, nutrients, water and antibodies. Proper blood flow is essential to healing. Unfortunately, when you injure your body you stop moving and the swelling sets in. That means your vital blood flow can be reduced to a trickle! If you want to heal quickly, you need to keep your blood moving and that's where Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy™, or BFST™, comes in. Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy™ promotes the flow of blood through the injured area without the need to exercise your already damaged tissue. You can really feel it work. Within moments of applying an Inferno Wrap™ you can feel the healing sensation and the increase in blood flow. During a treatment, and for quite some time after you finish, your injured area will experience increased blood flow even though your body is at rest. It's a soothing sensation and extremely effective. With BFST™ your injury is constantly being fed with healing, nutritious, oxygen and energy filled blood. This is exactly what your body needs to heal. How An Inferno Wrap™ Works
Inferno Wraps™ have been specifically designed for the treatment of deep, soft tissue injury. Inferno Wraps contain a patented Energy Web™ which is flexible and shaped to conform to your body. This Energy Web™ emits a uniform wave of perfectly safe electro-magnetic energy over its entire surface. This energy travels deep inside your body and stimulates the blood flow needed to heal your injury. Our Cold Compression Wraps are recommended as the best by the Mayo Clinic, and countless medical professionals. That's why we sell them, because they are the best. We have noticed over time that our customers are so fond of our cold wraps that they are frequently coming back and ordering a second one - this way they can cool one while wearing the other. The wraps are becoming very popular with baseball and soccer trainers, and the wraps can be conveniently stored in a cooler for quick application on the field when needed. ![]() Ultrasound therapy is also a helpful tool for pain prevention of groin injuries, and having a portable ultrasound device at home can be a powerful and convenient treatment tool. If you have symptoms or are recovering from a groin injury, using ultrasound on a regular basis before your activity or throughout the day will help relax your muscles, tendons and tissues, diminish pain and inflammation, soften scar tissue and contribute greatly to the healing of your injury. If you suffer from mild inflammation or pain after certain activities or movements use ultrasound therapy when you complete the activity and then rest and elevate your area of injury. Limit the application of ultrasound to a couple of treatments per day (the manual will recommend treatment frequency depending upon the injury). In between ultrasound treatments, maximize your pain relief and injury recovery by using an Inferno™ Personal Therapy System. Proven Performance, Proven Relief - only found at MendMeShop.com. If you have been given a treatment plan by your health professional, make sure you adhere to it to ensure pain free living. In general, people who are committed to their therapies and exercises will have the best medical outcomes.
| Dear MendMeShop, Hi. I injured the tendons/ligaments all around my right ankle while Zumba dancing. It started swelling and aching so badly that I could hardly walk. I went to a specialist who x-rayed it and said permanent damage had been done and that I would probably have a lot of trouble with it the rest of my life and therapy wouldn't help. I am 61 but not ready to give up. He said nothing much could be done about it and I was prone to having trouble because I am naturally flat-footed with narrow feet that don't give me much support. I wasn't satisfied with that answer so I did research on the Internet and found that ultrasound 3x a day to increase circulation and get down deep inside the tissue could help. I found your website and decided to take a chance since I had no other choice. I religiously applied the gel and ultrasound 3x a day for six weeks at medium for 10 minutes. (I stopped after 3 weeks, but the ankle got worse within two days so I started again.) After two days the swelling decreased by half and the pain about 60%. During this whole time I was still taking dance but not jumping up and down, just doing arm movements. Also I work in a tax office where I am on my feet a lot and managed not to miss one day of work. Tax season is now over and I haven't used the ultrasound in two weeks. I still can't jump on the ankle and I have a few twinges now and then but am able to walk 2 miles a day at a normal pace. My gait is now normal and most people don't realize I'm still favoring the ankle a little. I'm sure I will have lifetime problems with the ankle, but as long as I have my ultrasound machine, I'm sure I'll be able to lead a normal life. I'm thrilled with the product and have recommended it to several people. Rating: Katharine Goodridge ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||||
