Dear MendMeShop,

I am nursing a rotator cuff injury. I got it from swinging my arm out to quickly dancing one day. I have not really tried any other treatment besides going to therapy. I looked on the internet and did a search on the rotator cuff and saw the Ultrasound unit from MendMeShop. After reading the information on the website, I decided to buy. Owning my own ultrasound unit, I can give my self more treatments than going twice a week to therapy. Plus I am saving money from less visits. Since I have been using the unit about a month, I have noticed the movement of my left arm is recovering better. Plus I can always use ultrasound treatments in the future if needed, which I don't want to happen any time soon. I have already recommended the ultrasound to some friends that may need the unit for themselves.

Conservative Treatments for Athletic Pubalgia

RICE

This philosophy is used to decrease inflammation and relieve pain for chronic or acute athletic pubalgia within the first 48 hours of a flare-up.

  • Rest and limit your activity. Use crutches or walking supports to help alleviate pressure if required.
  • Ice your groin and abdominal area 2-3 times/day for approximately 15 - 20 minutes at a time to help reduce blood flow and fluid build up. Gel packs are a better option than frozen peas if possible, as they mold to your body shape and are reusable (do not apply ice/gel packs directly on your skin, instead wrap cold compress in a wrap or cloth). Utilizing 2 gel packs with a wrap will allow you to cover your entire groin, pelvic and thigh area at one time.
  • Compress the area if possible by adding light pressure to minimize swelling (make sure the compress is snug, but not too tight as it could cause numbness, tingling or more pain). Neoprene groin strain braces that wrap around your groin, hip flexor and adductor muscles are very useful.
  • Elevate your leg above chest level to relieve the pressure from swelling and allow fluid to drain from your injured area. Gentle massage around the groin and pelvis area will also help to prevent stiffness.

Ultrasound Therapy

Ultrasound is a great therapeutic option to decrease inflammation, pain and soft tissue (muscle, tendon, ligament, nerve and connective tissue) damage experienced with inner thigh (adductor) and hip flexor pain that may be associated with athletic pubalgia. This can be received using a portable, home ultrasound device (self-administered) or by seeing a physiotherapist. The treatment is easy, painless, safe, and generally requires between 5 - 10 minutes, 3 times a day. It is based on a form of deep tissue therapy, which is generated through high frequency sound waves (that we can not hear). These waves send vibrations deep into your body and raise the temperature of your soft tissue. The waves are delivered through a hand held transducer and medicinal conductive gel that are used together in a slow, circular motion on your skin over the injured area. You may experience a slight tingling or warm sensation during the process partly due to phonophoresis - a secondary enhancing, therapeutic effect of ultrasound. Do not use ultrasound over the genital areas and please seek the approval of your physician before using ultrasound!

Success

Ultrasound therapy increases collagen and tissue elasticity, which in turn promotes blood flow (circulation) and brings oxygen and nutrients to your injured area. This cleans your tissue by getting rid of cell waste products and helps your injury to heal. If not treated properly injured tissue can heal with a weakened state, which can lead to scar tissue or calcification. If used on an ongoing basis, ultrasound will help to increase your range of motion by breaking down any scar tissue that may form in your upper thigh muscles and hip flexors. Ultrasound waves penetrate deep into your tissues, repair and relax your muscles and other tissues, decrease chronic inflammation and pain, and accelerate your recovery rate, so you can return to your daily activities as soon as possible.

BFST™ - Using Your Body's Natural Healing System

Inferno Wrap providing superior blood flow stimulation.

Your body can heal itself! In fact, your body starts healing itself the moment you are injured and it's the blood in your body that makes it all happen. Your blood is the transport mechanism for everything that is good inside you. It carries oxygen, nutrients, water and antibodies. Proper blood flow is essential to healing. Unfortunately, when you injure your body you stop moving and the swelling sets in. That means your vital blood flow can be reduced to a trickle! If you want to heal quickly, you need to keep your blood moving and that's where Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy™, or BFST™, comes in.

Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy™ promotes the flow of blood through the injured area without the need to exercise your already damaged tissue. You can really feel it work. Within moments of applying an Inferno Wrap™ you can feel the healing sensation and the increase in blood flow. During a treatment, and for quite some time after you finish, your injured area will experience increased blood flow even though your body is at rest. It's a soothing sensation and extremely effective. With BFST™ your injury is constantly being fed with healing, nutritious, oxygen and energy filled blood. This is exactly what your body needs to heal.

xyliss ultrasound

Ultrasound therapy is also a helpful tool for pain prevention of groin injuries, and having a portable ultrasound device at home can be a powerful and convenient treatment tool. If you have symptoms or are recovering from a groin injury, using ultrasound on a regular basis before your activity or throughout the day will help relax your muscles, tendons and tissues, diminish pain and inflammation, soften scar tissue and contribute greatly to the healing of your injury.

If you suffer from mild inflammation or pain after certain activities or movements use ultrasound therapy when you complete the activity and then rest and elevate your area of injury. Limit the application of ultrasound to a couple of treatments per day (the manual will recommend treatment frequency depending upon the injury). In between ultrasound treatments, maximize your pain relief and injury recovery by using an Inferno™ Personal Therapy System. Proven Performance, Proven Relief - only found at MendMeShop.com. If you have been given a treatment plan by your health professional, make sure you adhere to it to ensure pain free living. Dear MendMeShop,

I just spoke to you on the phone in regard to my results in the use of the Inferno Knee Wrap and the Ultrasound I received about 3 weeks ago. I cannot believe how fast my knees are responding. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis several years ago and was told I would probably need knee replacement in a few years. I just took Advil, Aleve, Chondroitin, Glucosamine, MSM to help limit the discomfort.( I will add that I have ordered a number of supplements that promised the end of knee pain but they have not worked). I have had the famous steroid injections that helped for a few weeks. I have been riding my stationary bike up to 30 minutes a day (about 3-4 times per week) since November. In November my left knee swelled to twice its size and I could hardly walk. I saw an Orthopedic Sports Physician and was given an injection after the MRI and x-rays confirmed I had a Baker’s Cyst and a slightly torn meniscus (Do not know how I tore it). I did the ice and heat treatment and Aleve (800 mg every 6 hours). The swelling went down and discomfort was not as bad. I could not sit or stand for any length of time without my knees hurting and being very stiff. The physician recommended surgical repair. I was not ready for that yet so I did not do anything until March when I scheduled knee surgery. The Orthopedic Surgeon stated he could not promise to get rid of the pain and I did not need knee replacement yet. He also said at my age, 63, I do not have enough blood flow to the knee to heal the meniscus tear. I prepared myself for surgery but then started thinking there had to be another answer since I would still have pain in my knees. I Googled natural healing of meniscus tear and MendMeShop opened up and I read about the Inferno Knee Wrap to increase blood flow to the knees and also the Ultrsound to help heal the meniscus tear. I called the number on the web page and spoke to 2 very informative people. I was assured if I was not satisfied with the products I was ordering, I could return them for a full refund. I also read several testimonials and felt it was worth the investment. If the next few weeks go as well as the past 3 weeks, I should be down to 1 treatment per day and not have the stiff knees I have had after sitting or standing for an extended period of time. Thank you MendMeShop. I look forward to increased activity so I can keep up with the 7 grandchildren that keep us busy. I give the Inferno Knee Wrap and the Ultrasound 5 stars!!!!.
