Preventing Gilmore's GroinIt is always better to prevent Gilmore's groin or a groin injury rather than try to fix it after it happens, however that is not always the situation. In any case, there are a number of things you can do to keep yourself healthy and prevent further damage. ![]() To stabilize your groin and pelvis area, and increase your range of motion, maintain and build your core strength, stability and flexibility to keep your body strong and prevent further injuries. This involves improving the state of your abdominal, pelvic, groin, upper thigh and hip muscles. Light weights or exercise bands are very beneficial for strengthening, and yoga, tai chi, or a daily stretching routine will help to keep your muscles and joints supple (avoid sudden twisting and turning motions). A regular exercise program that focuses on total body fitness and includes low-impact aerobic activity at least 3 days per week, such as walking, swimming or biking will help to keep you healthy overall and will strengthen your body to prevent against further Gilmore's groin injuries. Weight loss and/or Weight Maintenance, which involves eating a balanced diet full of protein, complex carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals and antioxidants. This will help support a healthy system and will help you to maintain your weight. If you gain just 10 pounds, your joints must bear from 25 up to 100 pounds extra, which can add unnecessary stress to your body. Limiting your caffeine, alcohol and nicotine consumption will also improve your health. Choose appropriate equipment and supports for your body type and size
Avoid doing too much to soon to give your body an opportunity to build up its endurance, and to protect your soft tissue from injury and overuse. This is especially important when participating in a new activity. Gradually increase your participation to prevent overstraining your muscles and joints. Always warm up and cool down your muscles (especially your pelvis and groin muscles) before and after working them, and learn the proper form and techniques for your activity. If you are suffering from groin pain, listen to your body and decrease, modify and/or avoid any activities or motions that cause pain and irritation (twisting, turning, kicking, lifting, running or walking on uneven terrain). Try to walk on softer surfaces such as cinder or grass, rather than pavement or muddy surfaces if going long distances. If you are required to perform these motions at work or play and cannot avoid them, make sure you take frequent breaks and rest to prevent fatigue and pain. It is important not to rush your recovery to prevent further damage. ![]() Ultrasound therapy can be performed at home with a portable ultrasound device. If you have symptoms or are recovering from Gilmore's groin and/or other groin injuries, using ultrasound on a regular basis before your activity on your upper thigh and hip flexor muscles will help relax the tissues and prepare your muscles for action, reduce scar tissue, and help diminish pain and inflammation after your activity. Do not use ultrasound over genital areas and speak with your physician before using therapeutic ultrasound! If you suffer from mild inflammation or pain after certain activities or movements use ultrasound therapy when you complete the activity, then rest, apply a cold compression wrap, and elevate your leg/hip. You can also use analgesic or anti-inflammatory medication for pain relief if required. If you have been given a Gilmore's groin treatment plan by your health professional, make sure you adhere to it to ensure pain free living. In general, people who are committed to their therapies and exercises will have the best medical outcomes. BFST™ - Using Your Body's Natural Healing System![]() Your body can heal itself! In fact, your body starts healing itself the moment you are injured and it's the blood in your body that makes it all happen. Your blood is the transport mechanism for everything that is good inside you. It carries oxygen, nutrients, water and antibodies. Proper blood flow is essential to healing. Unfortunately, when you injure your body you stop moving and the swelling sets in. That means your vital blood flow can be reduced to a trickle! If you want to heal quickly, you need to keep your blood moving and that's where Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy™, or BFST™, comes in. Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy™ promotes the flow of blood through the injured area without the need to exercise your already damaged tissue. You can really feel it work. Within moments of applying an Inferno Wrap™ you can feel the healing sensation and the increase in blood flow. During a treatment, and for quite some time after you finish, your injured area will experience increased blood flow even though your body is at rest. It's a soothing sensation and extremely effective. With BFST™ your injury is constantly being fed with healing, nutritious, oxygen and energy filled blood. This is exactly what your body needs to heal. How An Inferno Wrap™ Works
Inferno Wraps™ have been specifically designed for the treatment of deep, soft tissue injury. Inferno Wraps contain a patented Energy Web™ which is flexible and shaped to conform to your body. This Energy Web™ emits a uniform wave of perfectly safe electro-magnetic energy over its entire surface. This energy travels deep inside your body and stimulates the blood flow needed to heal your injury. Our Cold Compression Wraps are recommended as the best by the Mayo Clinic, and countless medical professionals. That's why we sell them, because they are the best. We have noticed over time that our customers are so fond of our cold wraps that they are frequently coming back and ordering a second one - this way they can cool one while wearing the other. The wraps are becoming very popular with baseball and soccer trainers, and the wraps can be conveniently stored in a cooler for quick application on the field when needed. ![]() Ultrasound therapy is also a helpful tool for pain prevention of groin injuries, and having a portable ultrasound device at home can be a powerful and convenient treatment tool. If you have symptoms or are recovering from a groin injury, using ultrasound on a regular basis before your activity or throughout the day will help relax your muscles, tendons and tissues, diminish pain and inflammation, soften scar tissue and contribute greatly to the healing of your injury. If you suffer from mild inflammation or pain after certain activities or movements use ultrasound therapy when you complete the activity and then rest and elevate your area of injury. Limit the application of ultrasound to a couple of treatments per day (the manual will recommend treatment frequency depending upon the injury). In between ultrasound treatments, maximize your pain relief and injury recovery by using an Inferno™ Personal Therapy System. Proven Performance, Proven Relief - only found at MendMeShop.com. If you have been given a treatment plan by your health professional, make sure you adhere to it to ensure pain free living. | Dear MendMeShop, Thank you for spending time answering my questions and concerns on the Infero Knee Wrap and wrist products and how to use them. I appreciate that, and I am impressed with your company’s personal availability to personally talk with customers. In a fast pace, seemingly no care, “all out for “my” benefit” mentality in our society it is refreshing to know I can go on-line and there are people doing business who do care for their product and the people buying them. I went on-line to find help in treating my very painful meniscus and other issues Arthroscopic surgery on my right knee, that were more severe that my left knee issues had been, so I could find help in speeding up my recovery and get back on my feet again. Having had the same surgery on my left knee only 6 months prior, I was not able to recover as fast as my left knee had not yet fully recovered enough to take the full load of both knees. The Dr. said nothing about recovery only that I could not even put toe weight on my right knee for 4 weeks. So, with my left knee still in recovery this made life extremely difficult. So much so, I had to go to a wheel chair so I would not ruin either of my knees or my back which is suffering from degenerative discs. My knee issues stem from aging and over-use over the years. They are just wearing out. I am an active person and was not going to consign myself to a wheel chair for the rest of my life. I had no access to physical therapy treatments in my personal situation. So, I took the bull by the horns and got busy finding out what I could do to help myself recover faster and get back in action physically. And I found your company. I started my personal quest on Internet, which is all I was able to do physically at the time, and found your company, MendMeShop.com. I read all your info and was impressed with what I read and felt comfortable that you were genuine and were out to help me fully recover. The fully guaranteed refund was a plus to me so that I would not spend a lot lf money for something that I would be stuck with and as well did me no good. You also had a personal way to contact your company to discuss any concerns I might have in using it. You also had expedited mailing so that I could have your product in a few days so I could get started in my recovery. I was willing to pay the extra mailing cost to get the product faster. You really came through on your end and I had my Inferno Knee Wrap in just a few days. That really firmed up to me that you back up your claims about your product and that you truly cared about me and so I could get onto faster recovery sooner. After receiving the Inferno Knee Wrap, I was having personal issues in how often to use the Knee Wrap and so I called you to help me with this. I felt that the knee wrap was helping me, but I was finding that I could not use it to the fullest degree the instructions mentioned. You helped me and told me to call you back. From your recommendations, I started experimenting on my own to see what would work for me and I found a workable solution for me personally. Each person is unique and what works for one person may not work for another. So, I recommend not giving up and returning this product until you find what works for you. Because my knee issues are so severe, it will take longer than I want it to, but I am plugging away and using the Inferno Knee Wrap along with stationery bike exercise and I am seeing progress each day. Thank you for being there when I needed help in recovery of Arthroscopic Knee Surgery. I appreciate you and your company.
