Dear MendMeShop,

I just wanted to send a huge thank you to your company. I suffered a fully torn Achilles and unfortunately the system for retired Army officers is not very good -it was 5 weeks before I was seen by a surgeon. He was furious -- but we had to take the non surgical route. After 12 weeks I was cleared and sent to physical therapy - they were dumbfounded with my progress. I shared your products and gracefully explained I would prefer to trust my health to a process that works rather than continue to gamble with a system that is a crap shoot at best. The Doctor agreed! I love my progress and I work hard each day using the Ankle wrap heat and cold plus the knee flex. Thank you for great products - from a person who DID NOT HAVE SURGERY for a fully ruptured Achilles and the PT is dumbfounded with my progress. I am so far ahead of my surgical repaired contemporaries. This is my first testimonial and it would not occurred -- but when I lost my power connector for my heat ankle wrap it was replaced ASAP with no cost I was floored - thank you for mission impossible!!

Dear MendMeShop,

I am very pleased, especially with the inferno wrap. At first when I received it, I was wondering if it was going to really help, more than my heating pad. I can tell you today, my wrist has gotten so much better! I use the inferno wrap every evening in my down time before heading to bed, on the weekend did use it much more and believe that did help. I had severely stretched/pulled the tendons in my wrist, became very painful, going about the routines of life. I am so very happy with the purchase and am a big fan of the Mendmeshop, thanks for helping me to get my life back on the road to being somewhat normal! I do like the freezie wrap too, being able to put it on and leave it there but still move around. I will surely recommend your site to anyone I know in the future that injures themselves and wants to be on the road to recovery as soon as possible.

Posterior Tibial Tendinitis
(Tendonitis of the Foot)

Tiny tears and inflammation in the posterior tibial tendon leads to tendinitis and pain in the arch of the foot.

Posterior tibial tendonitis is inflammation in the tendon on the inside arch of the foot. The inflammation can be caused by irritation and tiny tears in the posterior tibial tendon over time (referred to as chronic tendonitis) or due to an immediate traumatic strain or tear (referred to as acute tendonitis).

The posterior tibial tendon runs along the inside of the ankle and attaches the tibialis posterior muscle (located at the back of the lower leg) to the foot bones in 3 different locations. The tendon assists in supporting the arch of the foot and helps to prevent your foot from rolling.

If posterior tibial tendonitis goes untreated you may experience flattened arches and your toes will begin to point outward as the tendon is no longer able to support your arch.

Posterior Tibial Tendinitis Symptoms

Symptoms of an inflamed posterior tibial tendon may include:

  • An unsteady gait (instability in the foot).
  • Shooting, stabbing or burning pain along the in-step of the foot and up the inside of the ankle.
  • Intense pain in the arch of the foot when standing on tip toes.
Hikers may experience posterior tibial tendon injuries if they roll over on their ankle. This can stretch the tendon causing tears and can lead to tendinitis if left untreated.

Who is at Risk?

  • People who have diabetes, are overweight, or are hypertensive.
  • People who play sports or do activities that involve repetitive ankle movements.
  • People who participate in activities such as running on uneven surfaces, racket sports, basketball, hiking, volleyball or other sports where rolling the ankle is common.
  • Elderly people due to tendons losing elasticity with age and becoming brittle.

Ankle Tendon Treatments

Allowing your ankle to rest is always recommended when you are suffering from tendinitis, tendon tear or bone dislocation. Avoid all activities that may have caused the injury or irritation and begin cold compression treatments as soon as possible. The peroneal and posterior tibial tendons are difficult to rest completely as they are essential tendons for walking and daily activities. During your recovery, you will probably have to modify and/or eliminate any activities that cause pain or discomfort in your ankle until the pain and inflammation settle.

Scar tissue builds on the ankle tendons as they heal. The build up causes pain and inflexibility in the tendons making them more prone to further injury.

The trick with healing an ankle tendon injury is getting it to heal with minimal scar tissue formation. Even with optimum healing, there is always less elasticity in previously injured peroneal tendons. This will cause the tendons to hurt during daily activities and exercise. However, if you heal your ankle tendons efficiently and quickly, your chance of re-injury later on is much lower than average.

Customer Reviews

Fortunately, there are healing tools that can help treat your peroneal and posterior tibial tendons and speed up the healing process so you can get back to a life without pain and risk of further injury. Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy (BFST®) promotes blood flow to heal your tendons faster and more completely than any other methods available.

Cold Compression Therapy

Doctors recommend using cold compression as soon as possible following an ankle injury, like a sprain, and after any re-injury. This will reduce pain and swelling and minimize tissue damage that occurs with soft tissue injuries like tendon tears and tendinitis.

Cold Compression
Freezie Wrap Therapy for your peroneal tendinitis inflammation and pain.

The Ankle/Achilles Freezie Wrap® allows you to treat the pain and swelling of your peroneal tendinitis or posterior tibial tendinitis in an effective and convenient way.

The wrap is adjustable which allows you to control the compression to a level that is comfortable for you and the gel packs are chilled in the fridge not the freezer. This eliminates the risk of cryoburn, or 'cold burns', on your skin that can be cause by ice and strandard freezer gel packs. You can also wear the Freezie Wrap® for longer treatments so you can enjoy even more relief from your ankle pain!

How to Order

Cold Compression Therapy works by interrupting and slowing nerve and cell function in the injured area and reducing swelling that can block blood vessels. This is important because once blood vessels are blocked or damaged, they can no longer carry oxygenated blood through the peroneal tendons and tissue cells begin to break-down. Without cold compression therapy cellular break-down and tissue damage continues as the cells do not get the oxygen they need to survive. By limiting the amount of damage, you also limit the amount of healing that needs to occur. This is a very important step to heal your ankle tendons faster and with less pain!

The deep cooling effect provided by the Ankle/Achilles Freezie Wrap® gives you the fast, effective relief your sore ankle has been looking for!

Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy

Once inflammation has been reduced, nourishing and strengthening the tendon tissue and surrounding area is recommended.

Ankle Inferno Wrap promotes blood flow to the tendon to speed healing and strengthen the surrounding tissue.

Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy, or BFST®, will speed your recovery and heal your ankle tendons more completely preparing them for strengthening exercises.

BFST® increases the amount of blood that flows naturally to your ankle to nourish your tendons and ligaments, improving elasticity and accelerating the healing process.

By treating your ankle with Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy you can increase your body's natural healing power. In addition, the fresh blood flow whisks away dead cells and toxins that have built up from tendonitis and tissue damage leaving the area clean and able to heal faster. Our Ankle/Achilles Inferno Wrap® provides effective, non-invasive, non-addictive pain relief and healing with no side effects.

Dear MendMeShop,

The inferno wrap did a great job on my knee and saved me from surgery! I am still using it but on my non-injured knee. I noticed no cracking and popping noises (from climbing stairs) after treatment of my left (injured) knee, so now I am treating the right knee as well. Thanks for your great product!
