Dear MendMeShop,

I constantly use the Leg Inferno Wrap for my thigh and hamstring pain......love walking/running. It's great for shin splints.... feels good when muscle gets hot. Really helped when I woke up one morning with a lower leg deep vein Thrombosis really bed with the combo of whey protein; herbs for inflammation; and wearing this I was able to start running again in three weeks and walk normally in 2 weeks. Constantly use every evening and feels good after; For anyone like me it's a great product.

Dear MendMeShop,

My back is feeling better. Regular heating pads don't seem to work as well as the Inferno - I would assume due to their lack of penetration. The Inferno Wrap is of good benefit at this point. Thanks for a great product.

Dear MendMeShop,

I am most satisfied with the products that I purchased. It is clearly high quality and I am positive it will heal my knee in the long run. I am really looking forward to getting my knee sorted out permanently. I did have a knee operation about two years ago but there were no time to give it a decent recovery time. Unfortunately as a mechanic working on the power plant here in Salerno, we work on gravel surfaces 24/7 for 85 days before returning home for a 3 week vacation. At the age of 53 it becomes real stress full and I also had to put away my running shoes, which was also a blow to me. I am very confident that your products will get me back on the road again and I would love to do the Comrades ultra marathon in South Africa for the third time.

Treating Heel Spurs and
Preventing Further Damage

Try and stay off your feet..

Resting your foot and modifying your activities are two of the most important things you can do to help recover from your heel spurs. Cold therapy and slight compression will help to ease your pain and discomfort from inflammation. Heel spurs can be painful and disruptive but by making small alterations in your lifestyle and regular routines you can often control the condition. The goal is to relieve pain, reduce friction, and transfer pressure from your sensitive foot areas.

Cushion Your Heel

Properly sized, comfortable footwear with significant arch support and motion control can help to alleviate the pressure on your heel spur. If you suffer from improper foot structures (over pronation or under pronation) that cause excess friction, you can correct it with orthotics such as insoles and arch supports. Other foot devices (walking casts, donut-shaped heel cushions, tape, or night splints) may also provide support and proper alignment. Avoid running around barefoot or on hard and uneven ground.

Maintain Healthy Feet and Body

Gentle foot massage.

Exercises that stretch and strengthen your foot (flexor digitorum brevis and quadratus plantae), ankle (achilles tendon) and leg muscles (soleus, gastrocnemius, hamstring) keep you balanced and flexible. A balanced diet keeps your weight maintained, reducing the stress on your plantar fascia.

Gentle foot massage, chiropractic care, physical therapy, reflexology, and acupressure are effective in relieving tension, strengthening your foot and helping with alignment.

Recovery from heel spurs can take between 6 weeks - 18 months, depending on the severity of your condition and your commitment to proper rehabilitation. The more dedicated you are with your treatments and your overall health, the faster you will see successful, long-lasting results.

Cold Compression Therapy

When you are experiencing pain, swelling, and inflammation in your heel and at the bottom of your foot, doctors recommend cold compression therapy. Cold compression therapy reduces tissue damage caused by swelling and inflammation and treats your foot pain quickly.

Plantar Fasciitis Treatment with Cold Compression Wraps

Cold compression therapy works by interrupting and slowing nerve and cell function in the damaged area. This is important because once blood vessels are damaged, they can no longer carry oxygenated blood to the plantar fascia and tissue cells begin to break-down.

The Plantar/Spur Freezie Wrap® allows you to treat yourself in an effective and convenient way and the deep cold provided by the Plantar/Spur Freezie Wrap® slows cell function thereby reducing cellular break-down. Furthermore, because the cold wraps serve to numb the nerves, the wraps also reduce pain!

The cooling gel pack inside every Freezie Wrap® have been designed with ColdCure Technology®. The specially formulated gel allows the pack to be supercharged in the fridge, not in the freezer like ice or other freezer packs. The Freezie Wrap® gives you deep cold compression therapy without the risk of 'cold burns' or cryoburn to the layers of your skin. This unique technology, inside a soft and completely adjustable neoprene wrap, gives you comfortable, convenient, and effective cold compression therapy.

In addition, the specially designed foot wrap has an adjustable compression band so you can control the amount of pressure that feels good around your foot.

Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy

Once inflammation and swelling have been reduced in your heel and plantar fascia, nourishing and strengthening the tissue in your foot is the goal. Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy (BFST®) promotes blood flow to the treatment area bringing the necessary oxygen and nutrients to your plantar fascia and other weakened tissue. BFST® speeds up the body's natural repair process for faster healing and stronger tissue.

MendMeShop Inferno Wrap and how it works.

Extremities of the body, like the foot, do not receive much blood flow naturally and when you stop moving your foot because it hurts, you are not creating the natural blood flow it usually receives. With the use of Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy you can increase your body's blood supply to the plantar fascia.

In addition, the fresh blood flow whisks away dead cells and toxins (including lactic acid, commonly found in trigger points) that have built up from the injury leaving the area clean and better prepared for healing. Our Plantar/Spur Inferno Wrap® provides effective, non-invasive, non-addictive pain relief with no side effects.

Keeping your planter fascia and foot as healthy and strong as possible throughout the healing process will allow you to get back to your regular activities faster. The Plantar/Spur Inferno Wrap®, available exclusively from MendMeShop®, provides effective, non-invasive, non-addictive pain relief and healing with no side effects.

The benefits of BFST® do not end once your foot pain stops! Even when your foot has healed, your activities can put it at risk of an overuse injury, tightness, or another tear. An Inferno Wrap® treatment before activity is an easy way to warm up the tissues and prepare them for use. Then, end your day with another treatment to prevent tightness from setting in overnight. This incredible healing tool will be the ticket to healthy feet for years to come!

How to Order

During your recovery, you will probably have to modify and/or eliminate any activities that cause pain or discomfort in your foot until your pain and inflammation settle. With these easy-to-use therapies you will notice great improvement within a few weeks, with most patients seeing some improvement quickly. The more diligent you are with your treatment and rehabilitation, the faster you will see successful results. If you start using your foot before it has a chance to heal properly (even though it may feel better), you can end up doing a lot more damage than good!

Surgery

For sharper spurs that consistently irritate the heel tissue, surgery may be required to remove it. Heel or plantar fasciitis surgery (endoscopic plantar fasciotomy, open heel-spur fasciotomy) helps to relieve pressure, reduce pain and remove the calcium spur from the heel area. However, surgery is not a guarantee and there can be complications. If the plantar fascia is not repaired when the heel spur is removed, the spur is likely to return.

Regardless of whether you will need surgery, proper treatments at home can reduce damage, pain, and inflammation to help you live with your heel spur or plantar fasciitis and get you on the road to recovery.

Customer Reviews

Although you can not get rid of the spur with home treatments, you can treat the tissue around it to reduce the inflammation and pain. Conservative treatments tend to be the best way to treat heel spur inflammation and plantar fasciitis. To improve healing time and treat your pain naturally, cold compression therapy and Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy are recommended.
